Themes of the week
Used from the 12th thru the 18th century, the buckler achieved a deserved reputation as both a defensive and offensive arm. Indispensable in both classical rapier play and I.33 sparring, it has become an essential part of the modern swordsman's equipment.
We are proud to present our Medieval Shield Category. Not only do we feature the traditional shields of the Middle Ages, we also feature shields inspired by the legendary warriors and kings of the Middle Ages.
Armours for kids
Armour is a protective covering used to prevent damage from being inflicted.
Significant factors in the development of armour include the economic and technological necessities. For instance, plate armour first appeared in Medieval Europe. At times the development of armour has run parallel to the development of increasingly effective weaponry on the battlefield, with armourers seeking to create better protection without sacrificing mobility.
The Tanto is commonly referred to as a knife or dagger. The Tanto blade is single or double edged with a length between 15 and 30 cm (6-12 inches). This is our collection of Authentic Japanese Handmade Full Tang Fully Functional Tanto Knives. The Tanto Knife has been handmade in the old fashion. This is the companion of the Japanese Katana Sword. The Tanto first made its appearance around the 8th century during the Heian Period. These first Tantos were almost always used as functional weapons and as a result did not have much artistic quality.
The history of the Ninja is hard to trace. This is because there were few, if any records kept of its existence. Most of what is known about the ninja is taken from stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. Nonuse ("the art of stealth") was first introduced to Japan in 522 A.D. as a religion practiced by priests. These priests were not violent people, they were "mystics" who gathered and shared information for the ruling classes.
Swords, Saber, Epee
Our Medieval Category - Swords/Saber/Epee is a comprehensive collection of Weapons from the Middle Ages. We feature a full array of medieval swords that range from Long Swords, Crusader Themed Swords, Arming Swords, Claymore Swords, Templar Knights Swords.
The Arming Sword was the sword of the Knights for 350 years. During its height of use a knight was considered undressed unless he was armed with the sword.
